One thing you need to know is that the portal is not easy to open for many browsers but we will show you how to go about it.

The housing units, starting from 1, 2 to 3 bedroom bungalows and blocks of flats are available for any area of choice except for Lagos and River State that state Governments have not provided the land.

Requirements For Applying for Nigeria National Housing Programme

Passport photograph:  You will need to upload a digital copy of your most recent passport photograph for .JPEG or .PNG format.

Current Tax Clearance/Pay Slip: This is very important to also show the most recent copy of your tax clearance / Pay Slip certificate and upload it for PDF format only.

Means of Identification (National I.D, Drivers licences, International passport ): Also upload a digital copy of your means of identification for .JPEG or .PNG format.

Letter of recommendation from any Primary Morgage Bank (for people who are already Mortgage Subscribers)

Evidence of 10% initial deposit. (for Mortgage Subscribers only)

An adult who is 18 years or above and has means of income or employment that is verified can apply for the housing project.

He or She must also be a contributor to National Housing Fund and must comply with the terms and conditions of sale and complete the online application.

When you open the portal, the first step is to register for the website, this one can allow you to get access to see all the houses available for different areas of the country.

After that, you will then select the state where you want the property and pick any of the available apartments of your choice.

Then you will go ahead with the application process.

Online Application: When you click on apply, it will take you to another page where you will fill in your personal information such as employment and then upload the required documents and fill in the property information and the declaration page.

Application Submission: Click on where you will see submit the application form

Application Fees: After you have successfully submitted your online application for the property of your choice, the next step is to make a payment of the N10,000 (Ten thousand naira) application fee.

Processing of Application: The Federal Ministry of Works and Housing will later review all the applications and only notify successful applicants as they would be required to send their payment authorization for the property that they are interested to buy.

Payment for Property: Once you receive payment authorization, the applicant will be expected to either make an outright payment or liaise with one Primary Mortgage Bank (PMB) for payment of the property.

Note: The property will be sold based on first come first serve.

Property Allocation: The ministry will then finally give the successful applicant Letter of allocation.

The portal has opened on November 12, 2021, but Federal Government didn’t announce when the application will close.

“This is a way to implement our Economic Recovery and Growth Plan because as at the time that we conceived this programme, the country was in recession”.

The country Minister of works and housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola said.

Fashola, who launched the project on Friday, said that over 5,000 houses are up for sale at an affordable price for residents across 34 states of Nigeria.
