Elderly Pensioners have come out to demand for their Unpaid pensions in Calabar, Cross River State.

As early as 7am, Both aged men and women left their various houses to stage protest over their unpaid pensions.

According to the report that was intially gathered, they blocked the major roads leading to the state government offices and houses in a bid to press home for their demand.

In the video, the elderly Pensioners could be seen sitting on chairs and singing a solidarity song “all we are saying, give us pension”.

However, in a developing news gotten from Sahara reporter, an eyewitness said the pensioners who clutched their files had just arrived and sat on the road, and before they could settle down, soldiers came and chased away all of them.

He further said that some newsmen who came to capture were also disciplined by the Nigerian Army and this made the pensioners to run away.

Watch the video below:

My opinion: The State government should try to meet up with their demand because it is not easy to work for many years and won’t get pensions.

It’s frustrating knowing fully well how the current status of Nigeria economy is.

Most of them will need the money for pressing things to take care of.
