Popular Ghanaian Footballer, Derrick Otim who plays for an English Club has died a painful death after drowning in a lake in the US.
According to a report gathered, The former footballer of Nottingham Forest drowned in a lake on Friday, July 3.
Otim who was born on 21 March 1996 had trained with the Club’s academy before traveling back to the U.S to pursue his dream course at Xavier University.
Few months after he finished studying at Xavier University, he went to visit his friends in South Carolina before he met his untimely death.
According to Wikipedia, Lake Keowee is a man-made reservoir in the United States in the state of South Carolina. It was created to serve the needs of a power utility as well as public recreational purposes.
The Lake was named as the most deadly body of water because about 32 people had been claimed dead within 25 years, this was confirmed in a local news article shared online.
Meanwhile, his former club and other colleagues have taken to social media to pour out tributes and some of them described the Ghanaian footballer as a ‘top lad’
