The former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Olisah Metuh is to spend the next seven years in jail as the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja found him guilty of all charges preferred against him over N400m fraud by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday.
Mr Olisa Metuh who is also the former spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has been sentenced to 39 in prison for money laundering.
Mr Justice Okon Abang, judge of a Federal High Court in Abuja, handed down the sentence, today because the former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party was charged with N400 million fraud case
The EFCC charged Metuh, who is standing trial alongside his company, Destra investment, with seven counts of money laundering and criminal diversion of said fund which he received from the office of the former National Security Adviser (NSA), Colonel Sambo Dasuki (rtd).
According to Abang, the actions of Colonel Dasuki led to the criminal breach of trust and official corruption involving Metuh.
The judge stated that Metuh lacked any documentary evidence to show that former President Goodluck Jonathan authorised the release of N400 million purportedly for security reasons without a contractual agreement.
Now that EFCC has been able to prove that Olisa Metuh partook in sharing funds meant for fighting Boko Haram, from the office of Col. Dasuki, can the Rule of Law withdraw back the international passport of Dasuki and put him in the jail he deserves?
