An eyewitness has narrated what happened before one military plane crashed in Abuja on Sunday, killing seven passengers on board.
Nkechi Udochukwu who lives close to the scene of the Military plane crash reported that she was in her room when she heard a strange noise.
Nigerian Aviation Minister, Hadi Sirika who confirmed the incident said one military plane, King Air 350 crashed in Abuja.
According to the minister, the military plane crash was not far from the runway after the report confirmed that it was due to engine failure while flying to Minna.
Sirika added that the military aircraft crash was a very fatal incident.
Authorities also revealed that no fewer than seven people were confirmed dead in the Plane crash.
‘The Plane Landed Suddenly’
Udochukwu told BBC that the incident happened close to the airport and she was in her room at Bassa when she heard the noise.
“Usually, I hear the sounds of planes from my room as they land and take off but this one was a different occurrence.
The plane landed suddenly and caught fire immediately. Some minutes after, two fire trucks came to the scene and another one landed later.”
“Many people gathered but I didn’t see any survivor as at that time, It’s a Military Jet crash”. She said.
We Will Investigate – Airforce
Vice Marshal Ibikunle Daramola who is the Director of Public Relations and Information Headquarters Nigerian Air Force confirmed the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Beechcraft KingAir B350i aircraft crash.
He also said the Chief of Air Staff has ordered an immediate investigation into the incident.
Daramola asked the general public to remain patient until they release the outcome of the investigation as they also condole with the families of the lost ones.
