The Nigerian Railway Corporation has explained how people can buy a train ticket to any location (especially the Abuja-Kaduna rail line) via the internet.
From now on, there won’t be a need to wait at the train station to buy a ticket since one can buy tickets through the NRC website online.
The Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi said that the Nigerian Railway Cooperation has launched a website where people can book for a train ticket to any location.
In the past, Travellers from Abuja – Kaduna have complained about the stress they normally encounter whenever they go to the station to buy a ticket and they have also advised Government to make things easier for them using the internet service.
But this time, Government has created an easy way to buy a train ticket online without you leaving the comfort zone.
How to buy a train ticket online in Nigeria
Any interested person that want to buy a train ticket can visit www.nrc.tps.ng and for people using android devices, they can download the NRC e-ticketing via the Google Playstore.
When the webpage (www.nrc.tps.ng) loads, you will see where to pick the location of where you are going(Destination) and where you are coming from (Starting place).
After you are done filling the other details as provided on the portal, you can now click on “Find my train” button and available trains and their timings will be displayed for you.
From there, you will see another fresh page showing the account area where your name, password and other details will be needed to register completely.
After clicking on the “Sign up” button, the website loads and you will be prompted to also enter your email address, password, mobile phone and date of birth.
In the area where you will be asked to enter your voter’s card number or NIN, you can leave it blank because it is not compulsory.
After filling all the required details on the website, you will be provided with the option of choosing the particular train, seat number and time that you want.
The final step is to pay via the ATM card.
