It seems this 2021 will be better than 2020 as some African Singers are already preparing to give us hot banger songs to vibe to.
Ghanaian famous singer, Shatta Wale said he is already planning to release his albums soon and Grammy award still favour self-acclaimed African giant, Burnaboy but the fast-rising singers are our focus here.
The main thing is that if these African singers can carry the same energy as they did in 2020, they may be claiming 2021 too.
Omah Lay – Nigeria
For the lover of good songs, you will agree that Omah Lay caught the attention of people after dropping Bad influence from his EP called “Get Laid” that made people to notice him. he then dropped damn, Lo lo, You and many others.
He is among the fast-rising singers fuelling the collabo of Afrobeat and soul. He has even worked with American singer and rapper called 6lack.
Omah Lay even became more popular in Africa after Ugandan Police arrested him and his colleague, Tems for flouting the COVID-19 guideline protocol.
This happened after they were invited by the Organiser of the show to perform in the Country.
However, the way concerned people across the world talked about his arrest’s matter made the Uganda Government release him.
This shows that Omah Lay has massive fans who are ready to support his work knowing fully well that he is a good songwriter so we won’t be surprised seeing good music from him this year.
Kidi – Ghana
In 2020, Kidi featured a popular American singer, Teddy Riley in a remix of “Say Cheese”.
The Ghanaian singer has received many accolades for his album titled “Sugar” after winning the album of the year in Ghana music awards.
Apart from that, He has also collaborated with other great African singers such as Davido and Mr Eazi.
So definitely, Kidi is one of the singers to look for this year.
Tems – Nigeria
After her 2019 hot single “Try Me” hit the music industry, Tems became a popular female singer.
Tems is already building a huge fanbase in Nigeria and around Africa after she was among the singers who were arrested in Uganda for violating social distancing of COVID-19.
With the help of massive fans who took to social media to demand her release, she was freed and not only that, she added more fame to her name.
The release of her EP “For broken Ears” shows that she is really ready to take over 2021 as one of the best female singers in Nigeria.
Elaine – South Africa
Elaine has shown Africa that she is among the very best of R&B singers.
One of her songs in 2019 was rated as the most-streamed artist in South Africa and the 21-year-old young talent also landed herself a record label with Columbia Records.
She is also an African singer to look out for in 2021.

In 2019, Sha Sha won Best New International act in Bet Awards.
