Senate President, Ahmad Lawan has told the World Bank to assist Nigeria because of Poverty.

Lawan who stated that Nigeria needs the assistance of the World Bank since deadly Coronavirus is proving so hard to even disburse revenue for the 2020 budget implementation.

From what we learnt, Coronavirus has killed over 6,000 people worldwide in just three months when it was emanated from Asia country in December 2019.

Recall that the Federal Government disclosed that Nigeria has recorded the third case of Coronavirus in Lagos.

According to NAN reports, the Yobe Senator told World Bank director who paid a visit in Abuja.

He said: “The World Bank should stand out to come to the aid of Nigeria. Normally you will discuss what the issues are and what the request of the country is.

“We have the issue of power in this country. It is a major issue. Before the security situation deteriorated, our main problem towards achieving our desired development in Nigeria was power.

“I am sure that if we are able to resolve the security challenges we are going through in Nigeria and then fix our power, Nigeria will be a great country,” Lawan said.

The Chairman of the National Assembly stressed that President Muhammadu Buhari’s promise to take 100 million Nigerians out of poverty in ten years was feasible.

“It is possible because we have the ingredients and we have friends who will help us. This is where the World Bank is also needed.”

The senator disclosed that Nigeria now needs technical support from the World Bank.

Lawan added that Africa’s most populous country not only require loans and grants but how to apply and deploy resources to achieve goals.

The lawmaker believes that with the help of world bank, Nigeria will progress.

I believe Billions of Naira have been disbursed in the fighting of the outbreak of Coronavirus in Nigeria

Does it mean that Nigeria is now broke because what Senate President told World bank is appealing?

We have influential and notable people that can help Nigeria. we don’t need to borrow money from outsiders.

People like Dangote, Otedola have enough money that is enough to move Nigeria to greater heights
