On December 13, Omah Lay and Tems were reportedly arrested by the Uganda Police after their performance.
According to multiple reports gathered, Omah Lay and Tems were arrested for disobeying the Coronavirus guidelines.
We learnt that the organizers of the event started it as launch and dinner party but after some hours, they started bringing up artistes to perform on stage.
Immediately Nigerian singers, Omah Lay and Tems performed at the event, some Uganda singers took to social media to drag the government, saying they couldn’t perform in their country but Nigerian singers were invited to the event to perform.
This is because the President of Uganda had already cancelled big music concerts or any big occasion that attract People in a bid to reduce the spread of Coronavirus in the country.
However, an investigation conducted by the Uganda Police force revealed that the Organizers allegedly bribed the Policemen in that area who protected the illegal event.
A few months ago, the country which recorded high cases of Coronavirus made the minister of health issue strict guidelines that every citizen in the country must embrace inorder to help fight the deadly virus disease.
But in a recent statement revealed by the Police Public Relations officers, on their Official Facebook page
It reads:
“We condemn the acts of some selfish individuals, who are bent on violating the directives on COVID-19 with the purpose of making money while risking the lives of many Ugandans. We appeal to members of the public to adhere to the Ministry of Health guidelines on the prevention of the spread of COVID-19.”
Apart from Omah Lay and Tems Who were arrested, their managers, the organizers of the event, the event planner and Policemen were also caught in the act.

The Police public relations officer also claimed that the suspects will appear in court for disobeying a lawful acts put by the Minister of health to curb the spread of Coronavirus in Uganda.
Few hours after Fans react to the arrest on Twitter, Omah Lay tweeted and said:
Yes I’m with the Ugandan police… something about the show from last night. Everything would be fine…

It may be recalled that Omah Lay and Tems travelled from Nigeria to Uganda to perform in big brunch event that took place in Ddungi Resort inside Munyonyo Kampala on Saturday 12, December.
