Woman Who Traveled To UK To See Her Kids Is Suspected To Have Coronavirus In Enugu

A drama has occurred in Enugu State as a woman who travelled to the United Kingdom (UK) to see her kids is suspected to have coronavirus in Nigeria.


According to a reputable agency Twitter account, the news of the woman who is suspected to have Coronavirus in Enugu State came out and the result of the case is now in Isolation until it will be out on Monday.

The Twitter user tweeted the below statement:

“The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control is aware of the patient in Enugu, suspected to have #COVID19.

“This is one of several alerts received daily at the National #COVID19 Emergency Operations Centre.

“The patient is in isolation, sample collected and results expected tomorrow.”

“She travelled to UK five months ago to see her children. She came into the country on the 11th of March 2020. She presented with fever, cough and mild respiratory distress. We isolated her at colliery and collected oropharyngeal and nasopharyngeal swab and sputum. The samples are on the way to Irrua Specialist Hospital, Edo state. Meanwhile, she is diabetic, hypertensive and has a peritoneal shunt. She is being managed by a multidisciplinary team from ESUTH, Parklane,” a hospital staffer volunteered under anonymity.


According to what Daily Sun had gathered, the old woman is from Owerri in Imo state, reportedly came back to Nigeria on March 11 after travelling to the United Kingdom to see her kids for about few months.

She was admitted at the Enugu State University Teaching Hospital (ESUTH), Parklane, where she showed symptoms of the COVID-19.

She was diagnosed at the Enugu State University Teaching Hospital (ESUTH) situated in Parklane where she has symptoms of Coronavirus but on Monday, the result of the test will be out.

We should not be panicked because of this latest virus news. I am sure that Nigeria will soon be free from Coronavirus.
